Block Party 2006

The second annual PLE HOA Block party is scheduled for Saturday, September 9th. If you would like to help and have ideas for fun activities please contact Liz Gruber!

2005 Recap - The second Cul-de-sac was the inaugural location of  the first annual Pine Lake Estates HOA  block party held Saturday, September 10, 2005. By all accounts the party was a huge success thanks to Liz Gruber and her tireless efforts in planning, organizing, communicating....the list goes on and on. Liz and Kurt Gruber were seemingly everywhere on Saturday, September the 10th, setting up tables, arranging chairs, filling ice chests with those two critical ingredients..ice and beverages. Not to be over looked, the gregarious Grubers' also were the impromptu hosts of the event making sure that everyone was included in conversation and barbecuing mayhem.

A special thanks to Steve and Corrine O'Brian for allowing their front yard to become party central for the evening. The event began with the rolling of the barbeques and the carrying of picnic tables down to the O'Brian's party central, soon thereafter Kurt and Liz were ever present depositing coolers filled with ice and arranging tables for the party to come.

The party, like most great community events, was a potluck wherein neighbors brought something to grill and a side dish to share. I can attest to Mark McGregor's grilling prowess and to the culinary success of the various salads and side dishes spread out on the community tables.

The Association was well represented, in attendance were the Grubers, Gibbs, McGregors, Imbriacos, Cardozaa, Doerrers, O'Brians, Lews, Cunninghams, Stucks, Hellmans, Sentmans, Benches, Hunters, Weises, Shiehs and Coulters. It is possible that I missed some attendees...did I mention it was a bring your own beverage event as well.

As evening turned to night, Steve O'Brian brought out a portable fire pit and all gathered around for smores and good conversation.

Next years event is planned for the first Saturday evening after Labor Day Weekend.

4th of July Parade 2005

The theme of the day was more sugar means more smiles per mile. Thanks to Karen Rollman and Michelle McGregor there were plenty of smiles on the faces of children and parents participating in this years annual July 4th parade. Every year Karen and Michelle plan and organize the 4th of July extravaganza wherein the littlest members of our community family dress up their bikes and bodies in 4th of July regalia. The parade course begins in the first Cul-de-sac and winds through Pine Lake Estates down into Pennington and returns to the first Cul-de-sac in a frenetic peleton adorned in red, white and blue streamers, pinwheels and accompanied by a chorus of laughing parents. The finish line at this years parade held a prize for all in Krispy Kreme donuts and juice.
